Course Description

Clarksville has a large German community. From the Edelweiß Club and its Oktoberfest to Silke’s Café, you can encounter many people of German heritage who live in our town. In our vicinity we have the German company Freudenberg in Hopkinsville and Volkswagen in Chattanooga. From food to holidays, German culture is all around us. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn this popular language or refresh the language of your German heritage, APSU's Continuing Education is the perfect place. German is the second most widely spoken language spoken in Europe after English. It is not only spoken in German, but in Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, parts of Belgium and northern Italy. We'll be organizing several courses dedicated to conversation skills, grammar and cultural insights (with levels from beginner to advanced). These courses are especially useful for those wanting to travel to Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Eastern Europe. No matter where life takes you, a foundation in German will help grow your mind and opportunities. German I will cover the first four chapters in the textbook, Wie geht's?
